Schwarze Air Sweepers

All Schwarze air sweepers are heavy duty, chassis-mounted sweepers that utilize a highly efficient, environmentally-friendly regenerative air system.

This sweeping technology ensures that even hard-to-reach particles hidden within pavement cracks and irregularities are removed, including the "PM-10 fines" known to contain a high percentage of heavy metals and other pollutants. Double-belted curtains on the front and rear of their sweeping head contain the circulating air flow to assure debris transfer with minimal escape of fugitive dust.

The Schwarze-exclusive WhisperWheel^SM blower system generates a high velocity air column that is propelled into the top of the sweeping head through a 12- or 14-inch blast tube. The air is first pressurized in the upper chamber of the sweeping head, then expelled into the head's lower chamber through what is called a "blast orifice."

This is a slot in the sweeping head that forces the air against the pavement at an angle, creating a "peeling" or "knifing" effect. This high volume air blast loosens the debris from the pavement surface, then transports it across the width of the sweeping head and lifts it into the containment hopper via a 12- or 14-inch suction tube.

In contrast to mechanical broom sweepers, Schwarze air sweepers collect and retain a much higher percentage of the micron-sized contaminants that accumulate on roads and streets. Recent studies emphasize the importance of removing these "PM-10 fines" due to the non-point source pollutants that contribute to stormwater runoff. The Schwarze model DXR street sweeper is a heavy-duty, chassis-mounted, dustless regenerative air sweeper with an 8.0 cubic yard hopper. The machine utilizes a 14-inch blast and pickup head. The sweeping head is also equipped with a suction side skid nozzle to further eliminate dust from becoming airborne.

Its basic design has had over 20 years of successful operation throughout the United States and around the world. As one of the largest, most powerful dustless air sweepers in existence, the Schwarze DXR is an ideal choice for use in a wide range of demanding municipal or contractor sweeping applications. The DXR sweeper's dust containment chamber is integral to the sweeper hopper and utilizes a series of cartridge filters that filter 100% of the air prior to insertion into the blower. The Schwarze model A8000 air sweeper has a 5.8 cubic yard capacity hopper. Power is provided by a 4.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine, the John Deere model 4045T. The Schwarze A8000 sweeper is an ideal choice for use in a wide range of demanding road sweeping applications and is America's only variable high-dumping regenerative air sweeper. The A8000 has enough height to offload directly into a dump truck with sideboards.

The Schwarze model A4000 street sweeper offers a 4.3 cubic yard capacity. Because of its relatively compact size, the Schwarze A4000 street sweeper requires no Commercial Driver's License for operation and offers great maneuverability. The blast and suction tubes are 12-inches in diameter.

The Schwarze Model M5000 street sweeper is a heavy duty, chassis-mounted broom sweeper with a 5 cubic yard capacity. Its basic design has had over 25 years of successful operation throughout the United States and around the world. The M5000 is suited for a wide range of sweeping applications, from routine street cleaning to heavy-duty sand cleanup.

Cities favor the M5000 sweeper because of its capability to sweep varying conditions, regardless of curb configuration or street contour. The Schwarze model M6000 street sweeper is a heavy duty, chassis-mounted broom sweeper with a 5 cubic yard capacity. It is available in both single-engine (M6000SE) and dual-engine (M6000TE) configurations mounted on a variety of conventional and cabover chassis.

For maximum flexibility, the M6000 has a scissor-lift dumping system that offloads debris to the side of the sweeper at operator-determined heights ranging from as little as 16" to as much as 11'6"—high enough to offload into a highway hauler with sideboards.

All variations of the M6000 have an extremely rugged, simplistic design, and this model is ideal for use in a wide variety of demanding road sweeping applications.
